The CBI has arrested a chief general manager (CGM) of the state-run NHPC and two other persons in a Rs 5-lakh bribery case related to the pending bills of Parbati Hydroelectric Project in Himachal Pradesh.

Harjeet Singh Puri, CGM-Finance, NHPC, Faridabad; Sunil Mendiratta, Senior General Manager (Project) of Gammon CMC Joint Venture and Sanchit Saini, who allegedly carried the alleged bribe money, were arrested, they said. — PTI

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
