CBI files chargesheet against four for the murder of Jagan’s uncle

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a chargesheet against four people connected with the murder of former MP and uncle of Andhra Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy. Former MP YS Vivekananda Reddy was found dead at his residence in Kadapa on March 15, 2019. 

The CBI filed the chargesheet in the CBI Court at Pulivendula in Kadapa district. 

Vivekananda Reddy had been a mystery for the past three. During that time, an IPS officer was suspended on charges of allegedly forcing officials to book the Andhra Chief Minister for the murder of his uncle. 

After the intervention of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on July 9, 2020, the CBI took over the investigation after registering a case. YS Vivekananda Reddy is the brother of late (undivided) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy.  

Two people were arrested, one from Goa, based on evidence collected by the CBI in August 2021. The two are currently lodged in judicial custody. The other two whose names find mentioned in the charge sheet are presently on bail.  

According to a press release issued by the CBI, further investigation is in progress.
