US President Donald Trump also claimed for the 61st time that he “halted Operation Sindoor”.
The party asked how long Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Ministry of External Affairs would remain silent while such remarks and reports continued to accumulate.
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said the PM “complete quiet” was becoming increasingly questionable with every fresh claim from Trump. He cited the annual report of the US-China Economic and Security Review Commission, a body created jointly by the US Senate and House of Representatives, which runs nearly 800 pages and has now been submitted to the US Congress.
Ramesh said pages 108 and 109 of the report were “astonishing”, noting that the April 2025 Pahalgam terror assault had been described merely as an “insurgent attack”. He added that the same section went on to mention “Pakistan’s military success over India” during the four-day clash triggered by India’s response to the strike that killed 26 civilians.
Calling the findings “simply unacceptable to India”, Ramesh asked whether the PM and the MEA would finally register a protest.
