Thiruvananthapuram: Bicycle buffs in Kerala capital have launched an initiative to delivery books at discounted price at doorstep. ‘Books By Bicycle’ is an initiative by bicycle lovers in Thiruvananthapuram, led by Cycle Mayor Prakash P Gopinath. “There are so many people who could not visit book stalls, browse and buy. You just need to let us know about the books you need,” the organisers said. The books would be delivered inside the corporation limits, with 10 per cent discount. PTI

Manipur releases 69 prisoners amid virus threat

Imphal: A total of 69 prisoners were released on Saturday from different jails in Manipur as per the Supreme Court guidelines to decongest prisons in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, an official said. Of the 69 released prisoners, 64 were from Manipur Central Jail Sajiwa and five from Central Jail Imphal, said a statement issued by the Superintendent of Manipur Central Jail Sajiwa, S Touthang. The prisoners were released on interim bail or parole for three months, the official said. PTI
