Doval meets Russian, Iranian counterparts

New Delhi, November 10
National Security Adviser Ajit Doval on Wednesday met Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev and discussed plans for further cooperation in the sphere of security. They also touched upon a number of regional problems.
“Special attention was paid to cooperation on various information security issues,” said a Russian read-out of the meeting. This is the second time the two NSAs have met to discuss Afghanistan after the fall of Kabul on August 15.
Earlier, in his opening remarks at the Delhi Regional Dialogue on Afghanistan, Patrushev extended support to and underlined the need for the format to meet regularly. He also pointed out that last month’s Moscow meeting of 10 countries along with the Taliban laid the foundation for a dialogue with the dispensation in Kabul. Doval also met Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani.
