Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat today announced a flypast from Srinagar to Thiruvananthapuram and another one from Dibrugarh (Assam) to Kutch (Gujarat) on May 3 to express gratitude to corona warriors.

During the flypast, helicopters will shower flower petals on hospitals treating Covid-19 patients. Gen Rawat said this while addressing a press briefing along with IAF Chief Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria, Navy Chief Admiral Karambir Singh and Army Chief General MM Naravane.

It was also announced that the Indian Air Force has readied 30-odd planes, while the Navy is ready with its warships in case an evacuation is ordered from countries around the Persian Gulf. — TNS
