Government offers debate on March 11 to break deadlock in parliament

The Government on Wednesday offered to break the ongoing impasse in Parliament and said it was ready for a debate on March 11 in the Lok Sabha. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi made the offer on the floor.

The collective opposition has been demanding a debate on the recent riots in Delhi.

The Parliament is literally non-functional even as the budgetary proposals have to be passed by both houses. The government also offered a debate on March 12 in Rajya Sabha.

Lok sabha is adjourned till 12 noon amid pandemonium.

The opposition did not allow the House to run on Wednesday morning and demanded the resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Sharma.
