New Delhi, December 11

Dream projects, facing years of neglect with the intended beneficiaries losing all hope of ever seeing these become a reality, are being brought to life by the BJP government at the Centre, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi after inaugurating Saryu Nahar National Project in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh’s Balrampur.

When PM Narendra Modi inaugurates the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor in poll-bound UP on Monday, major ‘shivlayas’ and ‘ashrams’ will live stream the programme across the country. Kashi Vishwanath Temple has been decked up before the inauguration of the corridor that will provide a direct link between the temple and the Ganga river. TNS

Akhilesh hits out at yogi Govt

SP’s Akhilesh Yadav called the UP Government ‘kainchijivi’ (ribbon cutting). “It took five years to complete the pending work of the Saryu Nahar project. There are two types of people — some who really work and some who appropriate others’ work,” said Yadav. TNS

The work on the Saryu project started in 1978.

Taking a dig at SP leader Akhilesh Yadav, who had earlier claimed that Poorvanchal Expressway inaugurated by Modi was originally conceived by the previous SP government, Modi said he would not be surprised if someone sprang up to take the credit for the Saryu Nahar project as well.

The PM said that while leaving Delhi this morning for the inaugural function, the thought came to his mind that someone might come up at the site and say, “Modiji, it was me who had originally cut the ribbon for the project.”

“It is possible that as a child he had cut the ribbon of the project. Some people give priority to cutting ribbons. Our priority is to complete projects by deadlines,” the PM said without naming the SP leader.
