New Delhi, October 2
The Covid symptom list is likely to be expanded with people coming to hospitals with non-respiratory signs and eventually turning positive for the disease.
AIIMS, New Delhi, Director Randeep Guleria today said the symptom list in India was being constantly expanded depending on new evidence. He said the number of people with non-specific and non-respiratory symptoms of Covid is small, but cannot be ignored.
Meanwhile, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in collaboration with Hyderabad-based Biological E Limited has developed “highly purified antisera”, prepared by injecting inactivated SARS-CoV2 in horses, which can be a potential treatment for Covid-19.
Antiserum is a blood serum high in antibodies against specific antigens and is injected in humans to help kickstart the immune system to fight specific infections.
