Health Minister Mandaviya slams Opposition for not allowing MoS Bharati Pawar to speak

Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Friday slammed the Opposition in Lok Sabha for protesting while newly inducted Minister of State Bharati Pawar was making her first oral response in the Lower House of Parliament.

Mandaviya said by not allowing her to speak, the Opposition MPs “insulted” an Adivasi (tribal) woman.

As Pawar started replying to a question, members of the Opposition continued with their protests against the Pegasus snooping and farm laws issues.

Slamming them, Mandaviya said Pawar hails from an Adivasi community and has an MBBS degree.

“She is standing to reply (as a minister) from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare….an Adivasi woman (minister) wants to present to the House and the country the reply about health and family welfare, but the Opposition does not want to listen to it,” he said.

“The Constitution enabled women to get elected to Parliament. (Prime Minister) Modiji included them in the Council of Ministers. This is an insult to Adivasi women. I urge the Opposition to listen to an Adivasi woman, a learned Adivasi woman,” Mandaviya said.
