Sources close to the deliberations during the meeting said the CM also asked special Central assistance in enhancing telecom network penetration in Naxal-hit regions of the state.

They said the Home Minister showed his keenness to look into the demands made by the CM and assured him that immediate action would be taken on them.

Bhagel said, “Iron ore is available in abundance in the Bastar region and if the ore is made available at 30 per cent discount to steel plants to be set up in the area, then investment of hundreds of crores and thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities will be created.” — TNS
