Union Home Minister Amit Shah today tested positive for Covid-19 and was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram on the advice of doctors.

Tamil Nadu governor Purohit tests positive for COVID-19; advised home isolation

Shah, 55, made the announcement on Twitter saying he got tested after showing initial symptoms of Covid-19. “On getting the initial symptoms of Covid-19, I got the test done and the report came positive. My health is fine, but I am being admitted to the hospital on the advice of doctors”, he said.

In the same tweet, he also advised and requested all those, who came in contact with him in the past few days, to get tested for Covid-19.

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit too tested positive for Covid-19. He was advised home isolation since his infection was mild, a Chennai-based private hospital said on Sunday. — TNS/PTI

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Minister Kamal Rani Varun, the only woman Cabinet minister in the state, died of Covid-19 at a hospital here on Sunday. She was 62. She had comorbidities, a doctor said. PTI
