It was the first such meeting between the two border guarding forces after the declaration of ceasefire by the DGMOs (in February), an official said. Both sides decided to re-energise communication between field commanders, whenever required, to resolve operational matters. The BSF delegation mainly took up drone activities by the Pakistan authorities, terrorism and tunnels dug from across the border.

“A very strong protest was lodged by BSF delegates regarding drone activities in Jammu area,” the official said. Both sides expressed their commitment to maintaining peace and harmony at the border. The meeting took place in a cordial, positive and constructive atmosphere.

Both sides agreed to expedite implementation of the decisions taken during the earlier DG-level talks. — TNS
