India on Wednesday became the second nation after the US to deliver over 20-crore Covid-19 doses completing the schedule in 130 days as against 124 days in the US.

A total of 20,06,62,456 doses, including 15,71,49,593 first doses and 4,35,12,863 second doses, have been administered so far.

As per the latest data available with the Union Health Ministry, over 34 per cent of the population above 45 years has received at least the first dose of Covid vaccine in India to date. Over 42 percent of 60 people have received at least the first dose.

India’s Covid-19 vaccination drive, the world’s largest vaccination drive so far, was launched on January16.

A government statement said as per Our World In Data, UK reached 5.1 crore mark in 168 days, Brazil reached 5.9 crore mark in 128 days and Germany reached 4.5 crore mark in 149 days. — TNS
