ITBP troops walk 25 km in 8 hours to carry home body of pony operator in Uttarakhand

Jawans of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP) carried the body of a local in a remote area of Pithoragarh District of Uttarakhand for a distance of 25 Kilometers to hand it over to his family.

On August 30, the 14th Battalion of ITBP was informed about the body of a 30-year-old pony operator lying in a village Syuni located near Bugdayar.

The force personnel rushed to the spot and secured the body.

The personnel used a stretcher to carry the dead body to the native place of the deceased, village Bangapani.

They started their move at 11.30 am, and reached Munsyari at 7.30 pm on the same day, according to an ITBP statement

For this, the jawans carried the dead body on the stretcher through the road and narrow stretches of the Syuni-Munsyari road which is blocked due to heavy rainfall and landslides.

Eight ITBP jawans walked for eight hours with the body to reach to Munsyari.

Later on, the body was handed over to the family in native village Bangapani where the cremation took place.
