New Delhi, March 19

Informing that the government is working on creating an e-commerce portal for khadi and village industry products, MSME Minister Nitin Gadkari today expressed serious concern over non-payment of nearly Rs 6 lakh crore dues to micro and small industries by the government and private undertakings.

The minister, while responding to a discussion in the Rajya Sbha on the working of his ministry, said the Centre was working on an action plan to ensure the payments of dues to MSMEs within three months. He announced that the government would revamp khadi and village industries within three months and make it more export-oriented, and in the process the new e-commerce portal will come as a big help.
