Amid concerns over the fragile health of RJD stalwart Lalu Yadav, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar called on him on Wednesday at a Patna hospital, while Yadav’s family said PM Narendra Modi had called up on Tuesday to enquire about him.

Lalu (74), who fell from the stairs at his house on Sunday, was airlifted to AIIMS New Delhi from Patna on Wednesday for better care. Nitish said Lalu’s medical expenses would be borne by the state.
