Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde expected to expand Cabinet on Tuesday
New Delhi, August 8
The much-awaited expansion of the Eknath Shinde-led Maharashtra cabinet is expected to take place on Tuesday
Those familiar with the developments say that Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis may get the coveted home portfolio. Besides him some “12-odd MLAs” will also be sworn-in the Cabinet which is currently operating only with Shinde and Fadnavis.
Shinde and Fadnavis were sworn in as chief minister and deputy chief minister, respectively, on June 30 after the resignation of Uddhav Thackeray due to a rebellion in the Sena ranks. They have been functioning as a two-member Cabinet amid much criticism from opposition.
