Nearly 11.57 lakh farmers in the country have benefited through paddy procurement in KMS 2021-22, receiving Rs 41,066.80 crore as MSP value, the Centre on Tuesday said.

According to a statement, the Department of Food and Public Distribution procured over 209.52 LMT of Paddy in KMS 2021-22 till November 8 in 14 procuring States/UTs—Chandigarh, Haryana, Punjab Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Telangana, Rajasthan, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Bihar.

“As a result of which about 11.57 lakh farmers have been benefited with MSP value of Rs. 41,066.80 crore,” it said adding that paddy procurement is progressing smoothly in KMS 2021-22 at MSP from farmers, as in previous years.
