New Delhi, January 6

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) today announced a reward ranging from Rs 4-8 lakh for information leading to the arrest of 10 wanted cadres of banned outfits People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and Manipur Naga People’s Front (MNPF) allegedly responsible for attack on an Assam Rifles convoy in Manipur.

The NIA is investigating the Manipur ambush, which had claimed the lives of Assam Rifles Colonel Viplav Tripathi, his wife, son and four colleagues. Six other personnel were injured in the incident.

The 10 terrorists are believed to be behind the incident which took place near Sialsih village on the Indo-Myanmar road in Churachandpur district on November 13 last year.

The NIA said it had announced a reward of Rs 8 lakh each for information leading to the arrest of self-styled Lt Col Chaoyai alias Pukhrambam Mani Meetei and Lt Col Sagolsem Inaocha alias Ranjit Naorem, Rs 6 lakh for Sanatomba and Rs 4 lakh each for Khaba, Khwairakpa, Nongyai alias Nongphai, Joseph, Rocky, Balin and Kanta alias Santa. — TNS
