New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday reserved its verdict in a petition seeking shifting of the trial in the Public Distribution System (PDS) scam from Chhattisgarh to another state. A Bench headed by Justice RF Nariman reserved the order after hearing arguments from senior advocate Mahesh Jethmalani on behalf of petitioner Girish Sharma, who sought transfer of the trial and monitoring of PDS scam-related cases by the top court. The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
