Prime Minister Narendra Modi today stressed the importance of skill development saying skilling, re-skilling and up-skilling of people needed to be expedited as there is going to be a huge demand for this due to fast-changing technology.

“Skill development of the new generation is the national need and is the foundation of Aatmnirbhar Bharat,” the PM said, speaking on the World Youth Skill Day. He said learning should not stop with earning. “Only a skilled person will grow in today’s world. This is applicable to both people and countries,” he added. — TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
