Days after the Congress demanded a joint parliamentary panel probe into national security implications of the leaked Arnab Goswami chats, party leader Rahul Gandhi today alleged the Balakot strike information went to the Republic TV editor through Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Only 5 persons knew about strike

Only five persons in the world knew about Balakot – the PM, Defence Minister, National Security Adviser, IAF Chief and the Home Minister. Now, I want to understand why an inquiry hasn’t started? Rahul Gandhi

“PM Narendra Modi is the person through whom prior information on the 2019 IAF strikes in Balakot was made available to Goswami,” alleged Rahul during a roadshow in Tamil Nadu’s Karur.

The BJP hit back with the party’s IT cell head, Amit Malviya, attacking Rahul for his comments in Tamil Nadu that Indian workers could replace the Army on the borders with China.

Rahul Gandhi, commenting on the LAC standoff in Tamil Nadu, said, “If you use India’s labourers, India’s farmers, India’s workers, you will not need the Indian Army, Navy and Air force to be standing over there. China will not have the guts to come inside.”

Malviya retorted to the above comments saying, “Muhammad Imran, who was translating Rahul Gandhi’s speech, fainted and had to be taken to a hospital. Honestly, who would be able to stay the course after hearing such ridiculous ideas.”

On Arnab chat leaks, Rahul asked today as to why the PM was not ordering a probe.

“The only reason the PM is not ordering a probe is because he is the person through whom that message has gone to this journalist. Today, the Chinese army is sitting inside the Indian territory. The PM does not have the courage to say the word China.” he said.
