Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday had a telephone conversation with Indian women’s hockey team captain Rani Rampal and coach Sjoerd Marijne.

The prime minister expressed pride at the performance of the women’s hockey team. 

He told them that the women’s team was a skilled group of athletes who had worked very hard and that they must look ahead now.

“Wins and losses are a part of life and that they must not be disheartened,” the PM said.
