President Ram Nath Kovind was admitted to AIIMS New Delhi on Saturday afternoon and will undergo a bypass procedure on March 30.

A statement from Rashtrapati Bhavan said, “President Ram Nath Kovind has been shifted to AIIMS Delhi in the afternoon today. Post investigations, doctors have advised him to undergo a planned bypass procedure which is expected to be performed on the morning of March 30, Tuesday. The President’s health is stable and he is under the care of the experts at the AIIMS.”

President Kovind was admitted to Army Research and Referral Hospital on Friday after he complained of chest discomfort.

The Army hospital doctors today referred him to AIIMS for further investigations.

Vice President M Venkaish Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had yesterday called the President’s son to enquire after his health.

Health Minister Harsh Vardhan has also visited the President at the Army Hospital.
