Around 11.56 lakh eligible non-gazetted railway employees will get a productivity-linked bonus equivalent to 78 days’ wage ahead of the festival season, Union Minister Anurag Thakur today said after the meeting of the Union Cabinet.

The minister said a decision in this regard for financial year 2020-2021 was taken at a meeting of the Union Cabinet. An expenditure of nearly Rs 1,985 crore would be incurred on this, he added.

The wage calculation ceiling prescribed for payment of PLB to the eligible non-gazetted railway employees is Rs 7,000 per month and the maximum amount payable per eligible railway employee is Rs 17,951 for 78 days. — TNS
