The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by PM Modi on Wednesday approved continuation of the revamped centrally sponsored scheme Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan from April 1, 2022, to March 31,2026.

The scheme, which aims to develop governance capabilities of the Panchayati Raj Institutions, will have an outlay of Rs 5,911 crore, with a share of Rs 3,700 crore and Rs 2,211 for Centre and states.

The funding pattern will be in the ratio of 60:40 among Centre and states, except for Northeastern states, hilly states and J&K, where Central and state share will be 90:10. However, for other UTs, Central share will be 100 per cent. —
