New Delhi, November 16
The constitutional courts can’t interfere in the day-to-day affairs of temples, the Supreme Court said on Tuesday as it refused to issue directions on a petition alleging irregularities in rituals performed at Tirupati Balaji Temple.
Constitutional courts can’t spell out how rituals and “pooja” should be performed…how coconut should be broken…how a garland should be put on a deity, etc.,” a Bench led by Chief Justice of India NV Ramana told petitioner Sarvari Daadaa.
