A day after his wife’s death due to Covid-19, former Himachal Pradesh CM Shanta Kumar was shifted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali, Punjab, on Wednesday as a precautionary measure. Kangra Chief Medical Officer Gurdarshan Sharma said Shanta Kumar had voluntarily shifted to the hospital in Punjab after a mild fever. Surinder Bhardwaj, Medical Superintendent, Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda, Kangra, said Shanta Kumar’s son was asymptomatic and was discharged from the RPGMC Hospital on Tuesday.

Another official said Shanta Kumar’s daughter in-law and two granddaughters were under home isolation in Palampur. The former CM and five of his family members tested positive for the virus last week. PTI
