The Congress on Friday said party chief Sonia Gandhi would hold a virtual interaction with opposition stalwarts in the wake of ongoing developments that follow the culmination of a Parliament session and the government offensive against the opposition. “There is no dinner being hosted. A virtual meet is scheduled for August 20,” a party functionary said.

NCP chief Sharad Pawar, Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray, Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin and Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren will attend the meeting. TMC chief Mamata Banerjee is also likely to attend. — TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
