Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday spoke to the Indian Women’s hockey team members and asked them to look ahead and not lose heart.

“Stop crying first…I can hear you cry, do not lose heart. The country is pending in your glory. After decades Indian hockey is gaining prominence. This is because of your diligence. You all have sweated for years…your sweat is today inspiring crores of Indian daughters,” PM said to the team with captain Rani Rampal thanking him for constant encouragement.

The PM enquired about the eye injury of a team member Navneet and congratulated everyone for playing well.

Rampal said Navneet has had an injury and four stitches. The PM also hailed the performance of Vandana and Saleema.
