New Delhi, January 19

The Centre on Tuesday issued a notification to mark January 23, the birthday of Subhas Chandra Bose, as Parakram Diwas every year besides launching pan-India celebrations to celebrate the legendary freedom fighter’s 125th birth anniversary year starting January 23, 2021.

The notification issued by the Ministry of Culture said, “In order to honour and remember Netaji’s indomitable spirit and his selfless service to the nation, the Government of India has decided to celebrate his birthday on January 23 every year as Parakaram Diwas to inspire people of this country, especially the youth, to act with fortitude in the face of adversity as Netaji did, and to infuse in them a spirit of patriotic fervour.”
