The Tribune has strengthened its position as the No. 1 English newspaper in the North Indian region comprising Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. According to Indian Readership Survey’s 2019 Q4 results, The Tribune’s total readership (TR) for the entire region is 18,26,000, an increase of 1,39,000 or 8.24% over the previous quarter. The Tribune thus leads its nearest competitor by 2,90,000 in total readership. The Tribune has made a significant gain of 14.92% in its average issue readership (AIR) as well.

  • Chandigarh: 1,34,000

The survey shows that the readers in the region have always reposed their trust in the 139-year-old newspaper, which represents both tradition and habit to them. The Tribune has a total readership of 9.19 lakh in Punjab while its average issue readership (AIR) has increased by 11,000 or 6.79%. In Himachal Pradesh, The Tribune’s total readership is 4,33,000, a gain of 89,000 readers since the previous survey report. In Haryana, The Tribune has a total readership of 3,14,000, a gain of 65,000 readers since the previous survey report.

The story is the same for Chandigarh, where The Tribune has a total readership of 1,34,000 (TR) and average issue readership (AIR) of 57,000. It enjoys a lead of 15,000 in total readership and 9,000 in average issue readership over its closest competitor in Chandigarh. — TNS
