New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday deferred to August 10 hearing on petitions challenging the University Grants Commission’s directive to conduct university examinations by September 30, even as the latter urged students to continue with their preparation for the final-year examinations. The SC asked the Maharashtra Government to place on record the state disaster management committee’s decisions and the Ministry of Home Affairs to spell out its stand on UGC’s July 6 circular in this regard. — TNS
