Keeping a pre-poll promise, the Uttarakhand Government has set up a panel headed by retired Supreme Court Judge Ranjana Prakash Desai to implement the Uniform Civil Code.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now
