Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor is making headlines yet again. Rather taking internet by storm! No, not for his impeccable vocabulary, but for his singing skills. On a visit to Srinagar, the politician today sang a Hindi song at a cultural programme and the audience is seen clapping for him. “After the cultural programme by Doordarshan Srinagar for the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information Technology, I was persuaded to sing for the members. Unrehearsed and amateur but do enjoy it,” he wrote.

Here’s the video for you to enjoy:

Dressed in a green kurta with black Nehru jacket and a Kani shawl draped over it, Tharoor looks suave and wins with his cheerful vibe and style in the clip that he shared on his Twitter handle. The comfort with which he is referring to his phone for the lyrics adds to the performance.

Tharoor chose Bollywood classic Ek Ajnabee Haseena Se from the 1974 film Ajnabee starring Rajesh Khanna and Zeenat Aman in the lead roles. The song is composed by RD Burman and has vocals by inimitable Kishore Da.

Meanwhile, the ‘unrehearsed’ rendition has won his followers. Take a look at some of the Twitter users praising Shashi Tharoor.
