The wife of a Sikh kidnapped in Afghanistan has sought PM Narendra Modi’s intervention for freeing him and granting Indian citizenship to his family of six.

Attacks on Sikh minorities in Afghanistan have increased ever since India cast its lot with the Kabul regime in the ongoing peace talks with the Taliban. The kidnapped Sikh, Nidan Singh, had moved to India when the Taliban gained ascendancy in the early 90s. It is not clear how and by whom he was asked to return and man
