Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath today met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president JP Nadda. Sources said state party president Swatantra Dev Singh and general secretary Sunil Bansal were also present at the meeting to discuss the party’s preparedness ahead of the Assembly elections next year.

BJP’s upcoming programmes and the public response to “Jan Ashirvad Yatra” too were discussed. The meeting generated a lot of buzz regarding a possible Cabinet expansion in Uttar Pradesh.

A senior UP leader had earlier pointed out that Cabinet expansion and appointments to corporations would be meaningless unless undertaken this month (August), given that the polls were only months away.
