As many 24 students of Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, have been selected to represent the country in the Paris 2024 Olympics. The students will be key members of the Indian contingent, participating in various sports disciplines including javelin, wrestling, hockey, athletics, weightlifting, shooting, boxing.

Aman Mittal, vice-president of the university, said, LPU athletes selected for the Olympics include Neeraj Chopra (BA), Saikhom Mirabai Chanu (MA Psychology), Indian hockey team members — Captain Harmanpreet Singh, Hardik Singh, Shamsher Singh, Mandeep Singh, Sukhjeet Singh, Jugraj Singh (all pursuing BA), Manpreet Singh, Gurjant (MBA), and Jarmanpreet Singh.
