Ambala: A pedestrian was killed while another sustained serious injuries in separate road mishaps in the district during the past 24 hours, the police said here today. According to the official information, Munna Khan (35) of Naraingarh was killed when an unknown speeding aut-rickshaw hit him near Badoli village in Naraingarh. In a separate mishap, another pedestrian Gurjeet Singh of Mullana was seriously injured when an unknown recklessly driven car hit him near Khan Ahmedpur village in Mullana. The police have registered separate cases against the accused vehicle drivers and launched further investigations. TNS

800 intoxicating injections seized

Ambala: The district police have arrested Nikshay of Baldev Nagar near here and claimed to have recovered 800 intoxicant injections from his possession, the officials said here today. According to the police, the accused was intercepted on a tip-off near bus stand in Ambala Cantonment and his search yielded the contraband. The accused would be produced before a local court tomorrow, the officials added. TNS

Minor abducted, one held

Ambala: The district police have arrested Vijay Kumar for abducting a minor girl after luring her for marriage, the officials said here today. According to the police, a resident of Baldev Nagar near here had reported to the local police that the accused had abducted his minor daughter after luring her for marriage on November 15 last. The arrested accused was produced before a local court which remanded him to 14-day judicial custody, the officials added. TNS
