Yashman Singh, 20, was arrested by the CIA Patiala with help of Civil Line police station. Two .32 pistols and 10 live cartridges were recovered from his possession.

On January 1, the Patiala police had arrested Sandeep Singh from Seona village in Ransih Khurd in connection with the case. Both the arrested accused have links to gangster Jagga Dhurkot, a close associate of gangster Lawrence Bisnoi, authorities said.

On October 23, Sandeep and Yashman arrived at Harvinder’s residence on a motorcycle around 6:45pm and entered the house on the pretext of catching a stray pigeon.

Identifying themselves as friends of the kabaddi player, they sought to meet him. Initially, Harvinder’s mother asked them to leave, saying he was asleep. Upon their persistence, she allowed them to meet her son. As Harvinder appeared, one of the attackers opened fire at him, injuring one of his legs.

Harvinder managed to close the door, and when his mother raised an alarm, the assailants fled the scene on the motorcycle without a registration plate. Harvinder was admitted to a hospital, where he underwent a surgery. During the investigation, the police found that gangster Dhurkot and the kabaddi player had a rivalry over some issues.
