In a literary function organised by the Punjabi Sahit Sabha, two books — ‘Kurbani da Mull’ (Mini stories) and ‘Tin Rang’ (poetry) — written by Dr Gurbachan Singh Rahi were released at the Department of Languages.

Addressing the gathering, the president of the Punjabi Sahit Sabha, Dr Darshan Singh Aasht, highlighted the goals of the sabha for the development of Punjabi literature. Special guests, including Assistant Director, Department of Languages Amrinder Singh, Punjabi Lyricist Gami Sangatpuria, and Prof Tarlochan Kaur, presented their views on different aspects of books and Punjabi literature.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
