Fatehgarh Sahib, August 13
The district police have arrested two persons for allegedly threatening a shop owner and demanding a ransom of Rs 25 lakh from him by making calls from foreign numbers. The police have impounded a car and seized a mobile phone from them.

The suspects, Prince Kumar of Patiala and Satinder Singh of Muktsar, were presented in a court, which sent them to three-day police remand.
SP (I) Rakesh Yadav said Ankur Markan, a shop owner, said he had been receiving calls from a foreign number, and the caller had threatened to kill him if he failed to give him Rs 25 lakh. — OC
