Around 250 dairy producers participated in the National Livestock Mission (NLM) awareness seminar, organised by the Department of Animal Husbandry, Patiala, in Kakrala Bhaika block, today.

The focus of the seminar, conducted by Charnjeet Singh, Deputy Director, Department of Animal Husbandry (Patiala), was on the significance of cattle breeding, and technical details about commercial dairy farming. Training on these topics had been imparted in various sessions lasting two to four weeks.

Dr Parminder Kumar, Veterinary Officer, provided information on livestock management, disease prevention and timely vaccination. Yashpal, Dairy Development Inspector, shared information crucial to dairy farming and animal nutrition, and discussed the importance of mineral mixture.

Dr Suman Verka and Dr Tarsem Sharma from Banni Milk discussed the formation of cooperative structures, cost-effective methodologies, boosting milk production, and breed-improvement.
