5 school students killed in road accident in Patiala

In an accident near Nassupur on the Samana road a tipper truck loaded with sand collided with a private vehicle carrying school students.

The impact was severe, causing the vehicle to hit a tree and resulting in the death of five students. Another student is battling for life in the hospital.

According to preliminary reports, the students were returning home to Samana from their school in Patiala when the accident happened. The force of the collision was so intense that the front portion of the vehicle was severely crushed, requiring a crane to remove the bodies.

Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh is likely to visit Government Rajindra Hospital to oversee the treatment of the injured students.
