A delegation led by SAD leaders Amit Rathi and Gurpreet Singh Raju Khanna handed over a memorandum to the medical superintendent Dr Vishal Chopra, lambasting the government for deteriorating situation of healthcare in the once premier health institution.
Rathi said Rajindra Hospital has often found itself in controversy over lapses in recent years — be it mice or stray dog menace. Earlier, surgeries were reportedly hampered due to frequent power outages, with doctors forced to use mobile torches. He said instead of fixing the problem the police have placed barricades to stop their entry. He said it was nearly after two hours that they were allowed to enter.
The hospital recently saw a change in leadership, with Dr Chopra taking charge as MS after Dr Girish Sahni stepped down.
