The National Theatre Arts Society (NTAS) started their 44th annual theatre workshop in association with Punjab Department of Languages at Bhasha Bhawan here.

According to the convener of the project Padamshri Awardee Pran Sabharwal, Sawraj Singh inaugurated floor rehearsals of a Punjabi Play “Yatha Raja – Tatha Praja”.

Singh lauded Jaswant Singh Zafar, Director, Punjab Languages Department, for his efforts towards the promotion of languages and Punjabi Theatre. Sawraj, meanwhile, congratulated the organising team NTAS Director duo Sunita – Pran Sabharwal, President GS Kakkar members and artistes for completing 44 annual workshops and keeping theatre movement alive for the last 70 years.

NTAS also presented the lifetime achievement “Manch Samrat Award” to Mohan Kamboj and Rajinder Verma in recognition of their outstanding contribution towards theatre, radio, TV, and film.
