Patiala, April 30

Another pilgrim, who returned from Hazur Sahib, tested positive for Covid here today. With this, the count of pilgrims tested positive is three, thereby, taking the district tally to 64.

The patient, who tested positive today, hails from Dhanetta village in Samana block of the district. The patient was earlier quarantined at a local gurdwara was shifted to the isolation ward immediately after he tested positive. Patiala Health Department said of 90 samples collected on Wednesday, only one tested positive.

In the meanwhile, Patiala Civil Surgeon Harish Malhotra said a total of 147 samples – including 95 pilgrims — were collected today and the results would come tomorrow.

He said a 55-year-old woman from a village in Patran block of the district was admitted to Rajindra Hospital last evening. She died on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. However, the woman tested negative for Covid.
