Bharatiya Janata Party Punjab general secretary Anil Sareen, along with Mahila Morcha president Jai Inder Kaur, today released a chargesheet against the Aam Aadmi Party government for its complete failure in handling Punjab’s floods. Sareen revealed that according to the CAG report, Rs 12,590 crore was available under State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF), yet the Punjab Government released only Rs 70 crore despite widespread destruction of houses, crops, and infrastructure. The Chief Secretary’s report pegged damages at Rs 13,289 crore, while AAP leaders falsely claimed Rs 20,000 crore, exposing clear discrepancies.

He further stated that even after two months, the Punjab Government has not submitted any memorandum to the Centre for relief assistance. “Instead of helping the people, AAP chose photo-ops and publicity. The Bhagwant Mann government, guided by Delhi’s corrupt leadership, has turned a natural calamity into a man-made disaster,” said Sareen.

“Despite 25 Union Ministers visiting Punjab to assess flood conditions, the state government failed to act. Delayed preparedness and illegal mining exposed AAP’s utter negligence,” he added.

BJP strongly condemns the AAP government’s negligence, corruption, and deliberate attempt to mislead Punjabis by fabricating data and blaming the Centre.
