As the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab completes its three years in power, Punjab BJP Mahila Morcha president Jai Inder Kaur criticised the Mann government accusing it of failure to fulfil promises made to the people of the state.

“It has been three years since Bhagwant Mann took the oath as Punjab Chief Minister at Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s village of Khatkar Kalan. He claimed to follow Bhagat Singh’s ideology, but despite his promises of making Punjab ‘rangla’ (prosperous), the situation has worsened in the state,” she said, highlighting the deteriorating state of education and healthcare sectors. She said while the AAP government had promised world-class schools, 850 posts of principal in government schools remain vacant.

The BJP leader said the healthcare system was in a shambles, with doctors at the Rajindra Hospital here forced to conduct surgeries without electricity.

Despite grand promises, not a single major commitment made in 2022 has been fulfilled.

Jai Inder Kaur criticised the Mann government for its failure to ensure women’s safety. “Bhagwant Mann promised to make Punjab safe for women, yet today, it is among the most unsafe states for them,” she further claimed.

She also pointed out the growing exodus of businesses and industries from Punjab to Uttar Pradesh due to poor governance.

“When existing industries are shutting down or relocating, how will new industries come in? If this continues, unemployment in Punjab will only worsen,” she said.
